Data Usage

Text Selection

• When you select text for translation, it is processed locally
• Selected text is NOT stored or saved anywhere
• Selected text is NOT shared with any third parties

User Preferences

• Language preferences are stored locally in your browser
• Settings are saved using Chrome’s storage API
• Preferences are NOT shared or transmitted anywhere

Permissions

Our extension requires certain permissions to function:

• contextMenus: To add right-click menu translation option
• storage: To save your language preferences locally
• activeTab: To access currently selected text
• scripting: Required to:
  1. Inject the translation UI overlay on the current page
  2. Safely execute translation functionality in the active tab’s context
  3. Display translation results in a user-friendly popup
  4. Handle dynamic webpage content without requiring broad host permissions

All script execution:

• Only occurs on the active tab
• Only when explicitly triggered by user action (right-click menu)
• Never runs automatically or in the background
• Does not persist between sessions
• Does not collect or transmit any data
